Training journalists to tell stories that matter, using the tools that work today.
indigo-stream was founded in 2011 by a group of broadcast journalists who saw a growing disconnect between academic journalism programmes and the realities of modern newsrooms.
Traditional courses were teaching theory while newsrooms desperately needed people who could shoot, edit, and publish across multiple platforms. We built something different – a training programme rooted in the actual workflows and pressures of daily news production.
Fifteen years later, our approach remains the same: learn by doing, taught by people who still work in the industry, using the same equipment and software you'll find in professional environments.
Theory matters, but not as much as being able to deliver under deadline. Every session involves hands-on practice with real equipment and realistic briefs.
Our tutors still work in newsrooms. Our curriculum reflects what editors actually want. Our graduates enter the industry with relevant, current skills.
We tell you what works and what doesn't. Constructive criticism accelerates growth faster than endless encouragement. You'll know where you stand.
We measure success by employment outcomes, not completion certificates. Everything we do aims to make you hireable in a competitive industry.
